Advocacy and Mobilization

OneChild was the first organization in Canada to successfully influence the private sector to take action on the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism impacting over 22 million.

Alongside the International Bureau for Children’s Rights, Plan International Canada, Ministry of Justice, Public Safety Canada, and UNICEF Canada, we co-launched the first nationwide campaign against the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism, bringing together airports and travel agencies, airlines and consulates. At the heart of these initiatives, were youth.

We’ve mobilized hundreds of youth to come together to hold meetings with officials, write letters, sign petitions, and raise funds in their schools and communities to support survivors along their journey of healing.

We believe in the power of youth voice.  That’s why we organize, equip and engage young people with the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to be a voice for the voiceless, lobby the government and the business sector for policies and programs that protect children from sexual exploitation, and fuel the work of OneChild.
