Book A Free Speech

The key to disrupting child sex trafficking is prevention education which empowers children to protect themselves and their peers.

I am sixteen years old, and I want to be a Young Ally. When the OneChild presenter told us their story at my school, I was shocked, appalled, and overwhelmed. Throughout the duration of the speech I was frozen, in denial that those kind of things could and did happen in our world. I am against slavery, and I will fight for the end, and never, ever, give up…Please, give me the opportunity to change the world, give me this chance to spread the message, give me this chance to save a child.- Victoria Valliere, high school student, Guelph, Ontario

Tour Speaker
Brynne Thomas

Ever since she was a child, Brynne has been an advocate for those around her who needed help. Whether it was standing up to bullies on the playground or organizing fundraisers on behalf of her school, Brynne rose to the challenge. Her advocacy and leadership skills were first recognized when she received the Principal’s Award for Student Leadership at only eleven years old.

Through a school assignment in high school, Brynne learned about sexual violence, and vowed to support survivors and help put an end to the issue. A natural communicator, she started giving presentations on the topic, earning her first place in a speech competition and the opportunity to perform a Ted Talk. For her compassion and service in high school, Brynne received several awards, including the Pat Moss Society Award for “Youth Serving Youth”.

At McGill University, Brynne became involved with McGill’s Office for Sexual Violence, Response, Support, and Education. In this role, she facilitated various workshops for the McGill community and offered trauma-informed support for survivors of sexual violence. She has received extensive training in active listening, crisis intervention and trauma support.

Four years later, Brynne graduated with distinction and returned to Toronto, Ontario.
Viewing OneChild as a natural extension of her passion for advocacy and supporting trauma survivors, she jumped at the opportunity to bring her knowledge, passion, and dynamism to demonstrate that no matter how small you are, you can make a world of a difference.

*An honourarium to cover transportation costs is required if your school is located an hour from our office in Richmond Hill.
