Our Work & Impact

For over 20 years, we’ve been fighting the sexual exploitation of children at every level—from raising awareness in the hallways of our schools, to advocating for change in the halls of government, to ensuring child survivors have the support to heal and lead positive change.

Explore how we’re safeguarding young lives in the following ways.

AREA OF WORK

Child Survivor
Empowerment

Survivors are more than their experiences.

They’re children with strengths, talents, dreams and the potential to lead. Discover how we’re investing in their education, confidence, independence and leadership — and supporting those who choose to use their voices and lived experience to help protect other children.

ONE CONNECTED SYSTEM

Each area makes the others stronger.

These are not steps a child moves through. What we learn shapes what we teach; what children tell us shapes what we demand of decision-makers; and the survivors we support go on to protect other children.

IMPACT HIGHLIGHTS

Young People Creating Change

PREVENTION EDUCATION · 2024

EmpowerVention reached 17,000+ students and school staff

With young people as co-creators and speakers, and through formal partnerships with school boards, our flagship youth-led prevention program equipped elementary and high school students to keep safe from sexual exploitation — and to become changemakers in their own schools. Expansion to BC, Alberta and Quebec is planned.

ADVOCACY · NATIONAL CAMPAIGN

A youth-led campaign that reached 22M+ people

Our young advocates led an innovative national campaign raising awareness of Canada’s extraterritorial laws against child sexual offending, and mobilized the public to help report the sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism. It sparked the Canadian private sector’s first-ever action on the issue.

One child exploited is one child too many.

Your support puts prevention education in classrooms, young advocates in front of decision-makers, and care within reach of child survivors.
