Okay real talk – when we have control and respect ourselves, life can be good. But that changes when people think they can take our spaces, thoughts, and bodies to exploit them. So we need to take back our spaces and own what’s ours, both online and in the real world. You’re valid.

Own your THOUGHTS

Think of the interactions you’re having both in the real world and the online world. Sometimes traffickers disguise themselves and approach you as modeling agencies, clothing brands, friends of friends – and this can be a slippery slope! If it seems shady – guess what? It is!

Own your VOICE

If you experience something online or in person that makes you feel uncomfortable – it’s completely okay to tell someone you trust and ask for help. That could be your best friend, sibling, parent/guardian, teacher, guidance counselor, manager – literally anyone! If there is no one around you that you feel you can trust, that’s okay – you can always get help here.

Own your SPACE

Be your own Beyoncé. Own your self and your boundaries and know that no one can take that from you! Know that it’s okay to say no.

Own YOURSELF

Unfortunately, anyone can be trafficked. But those most at risk are those who are:

  • Run away
  • In foster care
  • Indigenous
  • LGBTQ+
  • Lonely

If you fall into one or a few of these categories, know that there are resources and support for you in your community and please seek it out. You’re important and valid, own it.
