After learning about the child sex trade for a high school project, I was faced with a major conundrum: as a young person, I couldn’t find my place in the global struggle to end child sex slavery. I decided to take matters into my own hands and with a group of friends, we started OneChild to give youth the knowledge, know-how, and the chance to lead the fight against one of the greatest violations of the rights of their peers.
So, if you’re new to the movement, on behalf of all of us at OneChild: Welcome! We’ve been working hard to make this site the young person’s one-stop shop for information and ideas for action. Be sure to check out the next few pages that are filled with fast facts, the low-down on our international projects, and of course, cool opportunities for you like our new Break the Chains campaign.
Young people don’t want to be tokens or just the recipients of help. We want our voices heard, our ideas valued, and the chance to translate passion into action. At OneChild, we get this. So join our movement and let’s show ‘em what we’re made of!
